DTE - When is enough, enough.
Every time there is a little bit of wind, ice storms, heavy snow, we have to deal with major power outages that cost an enormous amount of money to fix, not to mention hardship on people without power. Food is getting spoiled and a lot of people can not afford buying additional provisions with the current prices of food. They already have a hard enough time as it is.
DTE’s answer…………..Tree management. Spending additional 100’s of millions a year to prune trees. Guess who’s paying for that?………..yes, the consumer.
According to DTE it is too expensive to put the current old overhead wires underground. I have news for DTE. That is a one time investment. The millions you spend fixing power outages every time there is a weather related event will be exponentially more over all the years past and to come than working towards a better solution for all.
We should be furious listening to DTE telling us to be patient during power outages when they well know that this is preventable.
Why does our government keep turning a blind eye to the root cause?
Something needs to be done about this now.
it has been enough for all of my 72 years here on earth. i knew in my teens that the only way to protect the grid from storm damage, is to put the grid underground. but everyone seems content to let dte push them around, and let them butcher more trees that beautify our properties, and create oxygen that helps support our atmosphere. the high paid brainiacs at dte must finally do what is ultiately necessary, bury the damn wires !!! thank you for allowing me to state my mind, i am richard esch
