Where can I find job training resources in Michigan?

There are several job training organizations in Michigan that aim to help those enrolled develop specialized skills for future employment.

The Michigan Works! Association provides services and support to Michigan’s workforce development system. Through the Association, members can access timely, relevant professional development opportunities and ensure high-quality programs for all customers. Contact your local Michigan Works! Detroit at Work offers a variety of training programs in fields such as healthcare, IT, transportation, skilled trades, and manufacturing. To get started, view Detroit at Work’s training bios here, and call (313) 962-9675.

Michigan Career & Technical Institute (MCTI) is a post-secondary vocational and technical training center for adults with disabilities in Michigan. It is the second largest rehabilitation facility in the country and is supported by Michigan Rehabilitation Services. Contact MCTI at (877) 901-7360 or submit a request for student information here.

Michigan Rehabilitation Services (MRS) assists people with disabilities to obtain and/or maintain employment and partners with businesses to help save cost and increase profitability, as well as build an inclusive and engaged workplace culture. Michigan Economic Development Corporation (MEDC) oversees the Michigan New Jobs Training Program (MNJTP). Designed as an economic development tool, MNJTP allows community colleges to provide free training for employers that are creating new jobs and/or expanding operations in Michigan.
